Cable Cars

Petone Engineering manufacture, install, service and maintain domestic cable cars (also called inclined lifts). We have our own in house expert who is certified to issue cable car warrant of fitness and safety checks.

Cable car council requirements

We can sign off 12A forms as per council requirements and perform any work required to get your cable car up to the 12A standard. Our new cable cars are made from galvanized and stainless steel materials and components.  Click on the images below to view larger photos of our recent work.

Over Speed brake mechanism

We have designed an over speed brake mechanism which has been well tested and is currently used on our two latest installations. We have also retrofitted this brake to existing cable cars with great success.
